The Brazil-Lebanon Cultural Association will hold an event in São Paulo at the beginning of June to celebrate the anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, featuring the launch of a commemorative stamp and postmark, as well as an exhibition.

At a meeting held in Brasília with delegations from 40 African countries, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said Brazil has a debt to the continent that can be repaid through solidarity, technology transfer, and assistance for the development of local agriculture.

Authorities from the United Arab Emirates are currently in Brazil for appointments ahead of the BRICS Summit as well as meetings with local officials and institutions. They said the country is a key trading and investment partner.

Egypt’s ambassador to Brazil, Mai Taha Khalil, is having business-related meetings in São Paulo this week. Welcomed by leaders of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber, she said Brazil-Egypt relations are progressing well in the political sphere but need to advance in trade and investments.
