The French carmaker has been manufacturing automobiles in the country for 20 years now. Some of the output gets shipped to Latin America and Africa.
Last month saw 257,700 units sold, up 25.6% from October 2017. Exports, on the other hand, are on their way down.
The country purchased USD 1.83 billion worth of completely knocked-down (CKD) automobile kits from January to August 2018. The number is up 96% from a year ago.
Foreign sales from the country declined year-on-year in July, the National Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association (Anfavea) reported.
From January to July, 104,600 units were sold in the Arab country, 89,100 of which were imports.
Sales in Brazil increased 3.6% in June and 14.4% in the year’s first six months.
Over 73,000 vehicles got shipped in April, with revenue coming out to USD 1.68 billion, up 37% over April 2017.
