The Embassy of Bahrain in Brazil and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber held an event in São Paulo on Thursday (26) as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Arab country and Brazil. The Bahrain Music Band performed with songs from the region.

Brazil is becoming an increasingly important supplier in the Arab beauty market, particularly with hair care products. The region is supplied by companies such as Floractive, specializing in hair treatments, and Terra Fértil, offering hair straighteners and dryers. Light Hair aims to enter the market, too.

The Arab country established the King Hamad Prize for Peaceful Coexistence, an international award that recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to peace and dialogue. The chairman of the prize’s board of trustees provided details in a press conference.

Bahrain’s imports increased in July, and so did re-exports, in which a country exports goods that were previously imported. Top re-exports were private cars, gold ingots, and smartphones, according to a non-oil trade report.

A delegation from the Council of Representatives of Bahrain was in Brasília last week led by Ahmed Bin Salman Al Musallam as part of the program celebrating the Arab country’s relations with Brazil. Talks with congressional leaders and the Arab-Brazilian Chamber were held.

Arab countries have offered their solidarity over the tragedy brought about by rainfall in Brazil’s southernmost state of Rio Grande do Sul. Argentina and Uruguay have contributed with equipment and personnel. Portugal, the Vatican, Italy, Benin and other countries have sent their condolences to Brazil, too.
