São Paulo – Registration is open until this Wednesday (30) for Brazilian companies wanting to participate in the mission to The Big 5 show for the home and building sector, which will take place from September 12 to 16 in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. Apex-Brasil intends to bring 30 companies for the mission. The activities will occur in the UAE, but the goal is to bring Brazilian businesspeople closer to potential buyers from the country and other Middle Eastern nations. Many business people from countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain, will be in the emirate for The Big 5.
The mission will arrive in Dubai on September 11 and return to Brazil on September 17. The program includes two days of prospection visits to the show, in addition to business roundtables with Arab buyers and a cocktail party for networking with local business people. There will also be seminars, technical visits, and visits to buyers unable to attend the other activities of the mission. The complete schedule is on the Apex-Brasil website.
Apex-Brasil reports that with the construction of the park that will host Expo 2020 Dubai, the city has become one of the largest construction sites in the world today. Also, Qatar, which usually brings business people to The Big 5, has this market booming due to the 2022 World Cup, to be held next year. Apex-Brasil, through a contractor, will identify buyers and schedule meetings during the period of the show.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) is a mission partner, as well as the sector organizations with which Apex-Brasil has agreements, among them are the Brazilian Plastic Institute (INP), Brazilian Ornamental Stone Exporters Center (CENTROROCHAS), Brazilian Lighting Industry Association (ABILUX), Brazilian Association of Manufacturers of Ceramic Tiles, Sanitary Ware and Related Products (ANFACER), Brazilian Association of Furniture Industries (ABIMÓVEL), and Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation and Heating (ABRAVA).
The Middle East is already Brazil’s third main trade partner. Brazil exports the equivalent of 6.5% of products in the home and building sector to the region, second only to China (22%) and the United States (13%). Trade with the region is advantageous for Brazil, with a surplus of D 5.7 million, concentrated in the UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Iraq, and Qatar.
In addition to prospecting business, the goal is for Brazilians participating in the mission to learn about the local market. To participate, it is required to meet Apex-Brasil’s prerequisites and on this link.
